Anticipate needs
A nationally known restaurant chain knew that Covid would change its customers’ usual routines, so it planned accordingly. Rather than spending a few hours inside their venues as they did pre-Covid, the organization understood that customers would now want to spend as little time as possible inside.
Because of this fact, the organization knew that buying habits might also change. Instead of picking up food to be eaten right now, customers might want to pick up food to put in the freezer to use later.
So, with every take out order, they added a few extra containers or bags to separate the food into smaller portions to make it easier to freeze and then later defrost. The organization anticipated their customers’ new way of doing things and accommodated them. It showed their customers that they understood that times were different and that the organization was here for them.
An extra takeout container or bag might not seem like much, but what it demonstrated to their customers was priceless.
