Can increased demand work against you?

The global marketplace has changed in the last few months and some businesses have found their revenue streams drying up.

Others, however, have had substantial growth to the point where they are having trouble keeping up with demand.

Growth is something that most businesses dream of but with growth comes challenges. How can you keep the same quality of product and customer service when the amount of orders becomes overwhelming?

Often companies don’t think through the consequences of increased demand for their products. But if loyal customers can no longer get their products or have to wait for months for a delivery – you may lose those customers who have grown to expect something very different from your organization. Also, potential new customers may not understand that you suddenly have an onslaught of new business and don’t have the operations in place to meet the new demand. They may think that you always treat customers poorly or never have inventory and look elsewhere for their needs.

Plan for growth, not only as far as sales numbers, but also in terms of operations and Customer Experience. Every single impression you make on a customer will either lead to future business or not.
