Especially for you

Everyone likes to feel special, even customers. No one wants to feel like an afterthought. In order for a customer to return, you must either sell such an amazing product that they can’t get anywhere else (which is rare) or provide customers with an experience they want to repeat.

What sort of experiences do most people prefer to experience again? Good ones. What makes an experience good? Ones that create a sense of appreciation, respect, personalization, attention, etc.

There are many ways to demonstrate these, including an option chosen by one particular organization. In each box for delivery, the business included a small note with the words, “picked especially for you by” and it gave the name of a real person.

While it may be tempting to think of this as individualizing the employee, it actually individualizes the customers. It shows them that they are unique, that an employee thought of them personally as they packed up the box. It wasn’t a machine on an assembly line putting together their order. It was another human being who packed it for them specifically.

All humans want to feel seen and appreciated. Tap into that human need, combine it with a quality product and watch what happens.
